Buying frenzy?

Did everyone do their part to keep the economy afloat?

Since my family and friends read this blog, I won't go into specifics, but I did my part to counter the Adbusters "Buy Nothing Day" campaign.. My credit card is feeling a bit woozy, but I made sure that I got almost all of my shopping done yesterday.

On a related note, I hope everyone enjoyed their thanksgiving as much as I did; we had about 35-40 people at our get-together. Between the turkeys, the mashed potatoes, the candied sweet potatoes, the corn, the green bean casseole, the cranberries, the rolls, the veggie tray, the chips and dip, the hors d'oeuvres, and the desserts, we had enough to feed everyone. Many people pitched in to help, either by setting up, prepping and cooking, serving, or cleaning up after the meal.

We were fortunate that the Family Service Center on the base was kind enough to give us the run of their facility (ordinarily closed on Thanksgiving Day), with the wide screen TV and the five internet computers to keep people occupied before and after the meal. Their genorosity was greatly appreciated.
