That's SIR ALAN to you!

Alan Greenspan has been knighted by Queen Elizabeth.

The honour, recommended by the UK Foreign Office and approved by the Queen in August, is in recognition of Greenspan's "contribution to global economic stability."

Actually, because he is not a British subject, he cannot be called "sir", but he can add the initials "KBE" (Knight Commander of the British Empire) after his name.

Read about it here, on CNN Europe.
