Robert Mugabe, the leader of Zimbabwe, has been under EU sanctions for 11 months, which includes a visa ban. Now one of the countries wants to allow him to visit during an African continent leaders summit.
That country, of course, is France.
CNN has a full accounting of the story here. It is unsurprising that France is the source of the friction within the EU, as they seem to feel that the rules that they love to generate do not apply to them.
